My name is Mike Reid. Having farmed for years now on a diversity of farms I am setting root to grow nutrient dense vegetables as well as herbs and flowers to supply the Blue Mountains and Beaver Valley areas. While not certified organic, I practice organic methods and do not use any synthetic pestides, insecticides, fungicides or fertilizers. I manage fertility in the garden by incorporation green manure into the soil as well as making use of composted chicken and horse manure from the farm.
I am now taking orders for weekly boxes of seasonal, fresh veggies. Depending on availability I will have $20 boxes available for pick up at the farm or at a central location. This week the box included:
spring turnips, black radish, carrots, green onions, lettuce, spinach, dill, cilantro, thyme and beet greens.
