Big thanks to all the people who came out to the fair in Thornbury today. We had a great turn out, wonderful music, an entertaining ventriloquist, fresh pretzels, and amazing weather .
Veggies at the market included pumpkin, six kinds of winter squash, kale, swiss chard, two kinds of parsley, lemon basil, many varieties of tomatoes, cabbage, rutabaga, carrots, beets, parsnips, salsify (more on that one later), green garlic, zucchini, summer squash, onions and watermellon.
It was nice to be able to offer free samples of both pink and yellow-fleshed watermellons. I sold out of those quickly. While I would never guarantee a crop of watermellon from my garden up on the mountain in years to come, I hope next season will provide even more than this one has.
