This year I’m happy to offer a Winter CSA program which will be built primarily around produce grown right here at Kolapore Gardens.
What Crops to Expect
The CSA will consist of three types of crops: Those coming from the root cellar, which include items like beets, carrots, potatoes and other water-rich storage crops.
There will also be those stored in cool, dry conditions. Items such as onions, shallots, garlic and squash.
And last, but certainly not least, there will once again be fresh greens that are grown and harvested under cover of greenhouses through the winter. These crops include spinach, kale and rainbow chard.
Last year we had an abundance of giant kohlrabi, Nappa Cabbage, daikon radish, leeks, and other goodies. Each year will be different, but that’s part of the fun!
For crops that I am low of or don’t grow at all (such as potatoes) I’ll be sourcing them from trusted growers and bringing in only crops grown organically from within a reasonable distance.
Like last year, there will be opportunity to personalize your share contents within the realm of what I have available from week to week. You are not locked in to taking home what I prescribe, but to be honest, there is less choice than I am able to offer during the Summer CSA growing season.
3 Share Sizes
This year I am offering 3 Share Sizes:
Extra Small *NEW – Priced at $100 this option is ideal for those who need very, very little through the winter.
Small – Ideal for individuals or many families, this small share is similar to last year’s small share in size. Investment: $250
Full – Exactly twice the size of a small the full share is great for families or veggie fanatics! Investment: $450
Pick Up Locations
I have 3 firm pick up locations:
Collingwood – I’m grateful to be able to set up upstairs at the lovely Dags & Willow again this winter on Saturdays.
Clarksburg – Although I haven’t secured the spots yet, I look forward to offering pick-ups mid-week (hopefully Tuesday’s) in Clarksburg from 4:00-5:30pm
At the farm on Friday’s between Noon and 6.

HOW DO I RESERVE A SPOT???
Spaces in the Winter CSA will be limited and offered on a first-come, first serve basis.
A deposit of at least $100 holds your spot in the program. If you are able to pay the whole amount at once that simplifies life, but there is no extra cost for spreading payment out over a few months.
Payment can be made to me in person by cash, cheque (made out to “Mike Reid”), or by e-mail money transfer.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Like last year there will be two pick-ups per month for the months of November, December, January and February.
